Ok, so it's been a while since our last blog post. The reason....we are getting ready for our next big filming production trip.

There is a lot of planning, organizing, checking dates, (not only of the distillery's but also of the crew) and confirming all things that goes into a trip like we are taking.

So, the trip this year is a bit bigger and more involved than the one we did last year. And in the middle of it, we are doing a barrel pick at Pursuit Spirits. Of course we are going to film the process, so you will get to see how it's all done and what goes into it. But all that said, it has kept us pretty busy.

Kirk has been trying to stay afloat with getting videos and podcasts ready to publish, and with the this trip coming up (which is a full week), he has to have all the videos, podcasts, etc., finished, and scheduled to publish before we even leave. It's just not something we can do while we are on the road. And that means that not only does he have to have all the edits done, but I have to make all the original cuts and then review it all. It's quite a process. So that has taken quite a bit of time as we prepare for the trip.

So in case you are wondering where we are going, here is a rough idea of where we will be on this trip.

  • A distillery in Indianapolis, Indiana (because there has got to be good whiskey coming out of Indiana besides MGP)

  • A distillery in Cincinnati

  • A barrel pick in Louisville (at Pursuit Spirits)

  • A conversation with a whiskey attorney

  • A distillery in Kentucky

  • A distillery in Tennessee

  • A distillery in St. Louis

  • And, we might be able to swing in a tasting with Whiskey University

We might even try to film a couple of bourbon hunts along the way. Cause you know, the Big Human is driving and somehow, his vehicle always seems to find stores for us to stop at.

If everything falls into place, it will be quite the trip and produce some great content with some distillers that you have probably never heard of. Heck, we hadn't heard of most of them. And that's part of the Journey. Exploring what craft distillers are making. Why they are making it, and what it tastes like.

I'm a curious drinker and I like to challenge my pallet. Of course, we will see just how challenging I can be by the end of this production trip. The crew might make me ride in the back of the truck by the end of the trip. I better take a blanket and a pillow.

Stay tuned to the channel for a lot of new distillery's coming up, and a few surprises.
